Poem
Written: July 09, 2023 ______________________________________________________________ If tomorrow was my last, I'd do nothing grand, No skydives, no travels, no exotic land. In the midst of life's final show, I'd find solace in the simple, in the status quo. If tomorrow was my last, I'd stick to my routine, Rising with the sun, my soul would glean To school, I'd adrift, on a diarrhetic day, Engaging in lessons in the usual way. No need for grand gestures or loud displays. Just smiling at others and saying "hello" with paise. Doing my best, giving it my all, In every task, brimful, or small. If tomorrow was my last, I'd retain it to myself. No need to shout it or scream such an elf. No need to sing it from every rooftop. In the silence, I'd find peace to stop. If tomorrow were my last, I may never know. That's why I cherish each moment, each day I sow. In the ordinary, I find pleasure and love. In the things I hold dear, sent from above So today I live with a smile on my face. Laughing and euphoric in this ordinary space. For what I do today if it were my last, Would bestow contentment, a feeling unsurpassed. No need for grandeur or extravagant display. In the ordinary, I find my own special way. For if tomorrow were my rattling last, I'd find fulfillment in the moments that have passed. So let us embrace the ordinary with all our might. For it holds the power to bestow us pure delight. No need for skydives or travels afar, The beauty of simplicity will always be our guiding star. In the ending, it's not the arty trips that count, There are no hurdles we cannot surmount To be found in ordinary tasks of daily living Savor each day; life to sharing and giving.
