Poem
When your life has burned to the ground, take time out for yourself. Yes, it's terrifying. Yes, it's often unfair. And yes, the timing sucks! But, ultimately, you can get through this. It's a new adventure and an opportunity to build a new life. Rediscover your joy for everything you used to love. Remember that the Phoenix rises from the ashes. It is a wise and strong being. It is a survivor and a beacon of light and hope. And so are you. I wish us all the miracles we need to overcome our difficulties. Take care and stay safe. I can feel the stirring of my wings By Michelle Morris 08/07/2023 There I sit Like Job amongst the ashes My life burned to the ground No foundation left to build upon I feel bereft and lost and confused Questioning God and this Universe Surely there's a place for me in it? Surely I can find a way out of the darkness? I'm blessed with the vision of the Phoenix It rises from the ashes each time It's the quintessential survivor It's a beacon of hope and light To have faith that is greater than my fear To take time to build a new life for me A chance to rediscover my joy For everything I used to love It's a journey from Hell to Heaven A chance to take time out for myself It's a new adventure and an opportunity To create a foundation strong and powerful Rising like a Phoenix from those ashes Defeating the darkness of the void It feels like the first time in the stars Enjoying everything in the Universe Being a survivor means you've tried That you've overcome your traumas It's not pretty and it's awfully scary And the marks are scars on your soul forever In the Bible, Job survived He built a new life and he thrived The sorrows would remain as a reminder But he had faith in God being by his side Satan failed with Job Satan failed with me I'm grateful for God's mercy I'm grateful for the Phoenix's freedom I'm still sitting in the ashes But I can feel the stirring of my wings My flames are swirling all around me I am a powerful and mighty being When I fly off to new horizons May my fiery trail leave a mark Be inspired by my lesson Because each one of us is a star © Michelle Morris, 2023
