Poem
Sweaty palms, dirty nails leak through the metal rails, With that open window over there, The light shines upon my tips making the thought of freedom to exist in this room filled with darkness, My past creeps to me like a mist and causes my aching chest to weigh deep, I take every breath slowly to only prevent myself from feeling defeat, Body shrinks into a ball hiding from the ways of death, then I break, my sohl is just screaming from all of these years that's passed, how much more is my body willing to take, Only I can escape from the bars that I've caged myself in, The space that's left that surrounds me shrinks smaller in size and it's something I can no longer move around in, Get myself out and break free from the thoughts of being surrounded by darkness, Take off the chains that I feel slaved in, Look at the light through that open window and force myself to fight off my weakness, Light shine upon me, Light heat my body, Light let me flow through you out of this cage, Start with my finger tips and let me escape, To my natural form of state that I am ment to not only walk but live in, Break me from this curse that intertwines my mind and my sohl that I found myself to coincide with, I'm walking to an edge where the rope is at its end, Break free from my mental state so I can no longer hang and so I can make amends, For I am sorry and responsible for locking myself up, Beating myself up instead of building myself up, Clean myself up and lift myself up, Out the cage and window I go, With my sweaty palms and all, I will grow, Break out of my mental state and let my sohl be free, Let my own light shine upon me, And let my actions and words be my shining steed, Because I will break out of this cage, break free from my mental state, and live as I should, bare feet, walk across this grain of sand, light please fire up my sohl as I walk, live, and breathe on this land, Now I am ready, From my life, darkness you are now banned
