Poem
Contrary to what a dream might wish for, There are those, sometimes, who fail to see across That unbridgeable chasm, the one that leaves the heart Yearning for the light, the glistening of stars shining, The whisper of a sun reflecting all the wonders Found in those who understand, that even when Darkness falls over the whole land, there is the assurance That morning will come again and then we can see Past the forest, through the trees, into the endless peace That comes to show those who simply believe… Even in the seas of despair, there is a hope that stirs through Prayers for tenderness, gentling the darkness – stirring Silence so it soothes away the fear, drying every tear as quickly As sunrise dries the dew, reflecting the wonders of a world Created for our use, an earth built by the tenor of a spirit Like the wind, soothing and winsome, arriving on the heartbeat Of a psalm, a calm that erases all the weariness, coloring The life in hues of inspiration, insight, inviting and restoring Light like a fire, burning away the sorrow and tears with a faith That means more than this story can hold, more than the dream, More than the vision, more than the crimson history bringing To the night the reason for its leaving, its going back into secret Where the heart measures its successes with the sacred Promises from the One who created every word, every heart, Every reason and every thought…. From the misty mountain’s morning when all is light, so pure Fresh as the stardust sigh, the music hiding on the skies Guiding the sun through the heavens, erasing the night’s blackness, Repairing the memory, the music – its victory, arising Across the azure, flattering the birds, the butterflies, the beautiful With a way to bridge the unbridgeable chasm, the abyss between Light and dark, the past and present, white and black… It is the bridge across forever, the bridge that silences the doubts, Reflects the wish of eternity’s gracefulness, smiles down from above With the sweetness of a love that reminds every feeling, bleeding Wistfulness… this is the bridge through the quiet, the still, cool praise From a soul who knows that Jesus is the only bridge ever made. From dark to light, He made a way – a connection, a crossing From sorrow to joy, from worry to calm, from wrong to right, From the doubt to the faith, from impossible to assurance, From the ridiculous to the promising, from losing to winning, From the past to the future, from the fear to the confident, From the word, we learn… with Him, all things are possible… So the unbridgeable chasm is changed into a bridge of everlasting certainty, grace that believes, faith that agrees… He is the answer to our soul’s every need!
