I'm just a stone, one of many
I am really just ten a penny
Nothing interesting for your notes
I just sit here and watch the boats

Perhaps a witness will attest
That you are in fact the best?

(A joyful chap steps up to the mic)
Absolutely! Yes, that's right!
This stone has given me desire
To raise my hopes and then aim higher
I thought I was a nothing bloke
But this stone here, he gave me hope
I'm so pleased to see him one more time
Despite absence, he's a good friend of mine
I stood here, feeling all alone
My heart sinking like a stone
Then this smooth guy came along
And I realised I'd been wrong
I took aim and skimmed 20 plus
The whole beach cheered and said come with us
Carried on shoulders through the street
With stories told of my amazing feat
I haven't ever been lonely since then
Thank you, thank you, my dear friend
