A Date with Milton Written by Harry Horsman, 01/06/2023 A Premiere Contest Trophy Winner Death comes to all like a great shadow, servant of reality when the truth of it sinks in leaving the experience embedded on one’s soul. Milt, given to remembrance in his lifetime, moments flashing by, when the congregation gathered to celebrate his time on earth. But in the book of scrolls winter is definite in which age must give way to the new, one, he’d readily give for the sprinkling of innocence created to start life’s process all over again, with perpetual regularity. He would, from behind the thin veil of Ionna, bless and comfort the unfortunate, the depressed, the lame of an earthly lifetime in songs of praise. Leave a recipe for a foregone conclusion. Auf wiedersehen, we will meet again! My Tribute to Harry Horsman Written by _this Poet This poem of Harry's truly touches my heart and soul when I first read it and still now and will always love it. Now, Harry has 'left' us for Heaven above and we weep his passing It was written in God's scrolls and what is written can never be unwritten. But, still Harry I am shattered at your passing and it is difficult to accept. Harry, you can keep your date with Milton Hankins, your friend and fellow poet who we lost not long ago. This poem truly shows us Harry's skill in writing poetry with feelings. I 'feel' his truth in each word. Yes Harry, in life moments flash by and we never know when our time will be done for 'death comes to all like a great shadow.' Like you, I hope that I can give praise in song, written words, and in actions for those less fortunate. That, I can be kind and gentle, like you. And, that I can be generous with comments and compliments. And can write beautiful poetry. Oh Harry, I will miss you everyday forever. Harry, look down from Heaven and see the love. Rest In Peace, my poetic friend !
