Poem
on a one way street im donig ninety miles an hour being chased by cops drinking and laughing as i loose control and hit a tree.im drunk as a sailor but my passengers sober she begged me not to drive.the only way she could stop me was to jump in the car little did she know that would be the end. my world was turned upside down instantly in more ways than one.all i could do was sleep. in my dreams i saw her beautiful face kissing me telling me she loved me.the sky was blue the birds were chirping i was so in love. we made love on the green grass in the hot summer night away from the world no one in sight.i was lost in her passion floating in air mesmorized by her touch falling deeply into a trance.her eyes are like diamonds shining so bright staring into the night. we continued to make love until we both exploded deep inside our tunnel of love.i remember the lights they hurt my eyes blinded by the brightness i cried.i awoke in the hospital with i.v's and bandages covering my body.i couldnt feel my legs.there was alot of people so many crying i was confused by the sound. a face i recognized as my mother grabbed my hand and kissed my cheek.i knew i was alive so i was confused why are they all sad?a doctor came in and they all stepped aside he came up to me and sighed."young man you are lucky to be alive but you are completly paralizedfrom the waist down." it hit my soul like a ton of bricks and put me in a daze.suddenly i remembered my wife was in the car where is she why am i not with her?i looked in my moms eyes and the truth behold she cried even harder and said"she's gone!" my world came to an end in more ways than one bacause i was drunk and dumb.
