Poem
Before I knew how to spell blue, When my best dreams were filled with chocolate, Before I knew that she would be the glue, That attached my hopes and dreams to reality, The cement that helped me believe… Forever is the future that grows more beautiful As I pass through the doubts, the fears, the clouds Constructed from heartbreak, from disillusionment… She has always been there, comforting – Sustaining, reminding me that with her there I never need to fear the moments with their tears, Because she will fill the darkest void with a light That shines from her smile, the twinkle in her eyes… The miracles so alive because she is the kind of mom Who knows the meaning of inspiring, the gentle In real kindness, the beauty in a heart surviving… She is the wish – the insight and imagination, The one who reminds me that there is inspiration In every dawn, each new sun – in the heart and soul Who know that this love she reflects is a love That comes directly from the One who created her Before I knew the way to find grace, When my heart was so new I couldn’t even believe The joy that she echoed, the beauty that she signifies… Is more real because He is with her, Revealing the wisdom that comes to be When there is love this true, this great, this amazing. Thanks to this woman I call mom, I know of a hope That is brighter than the midday sun, a love that is sharper Than the moon and stars, a joy that sparkles like the heart Who knows that this is a love only the Son could have stirred. Thanks to Him, I have a Mom who is more precious than anything else. I have a Mom who makes my life feel blessed in ways it never would have! Without her, there would be darkness and doubt Without her, there wouldn’t be this beautiful to sing about Without her, I wouldn’t be prepared – to shine my light Into a world who needs to welcome Him, the One who is everything To my Mom and me, two hearts who will always believe With Him, there is a wonderful that holds the key to forever and always, The key to open that door between hearts and souls, The key to unlock the dreams, prepare the belief, bring unending peace. Before I knew what it means to love, I knew love in the heart I call Mom The inspiration for my heart, the joy for my soul, the miracle of a love that Restores my dreams and reminds me to hope – even when I feel desolate, To believe in His forever, even when I feel less than worthy of His gift of grace! Thanks to my Mom – I’m eternally grateful She is the amazing that comes from God’s most sacred gifts
