Poem
In his eyes I see pieces of my hopes My dreams, my feelings bleeding From his heart, his thoughts The soul that knows me well, With a gentle that never reveals The vulnerability beneath my fears, The naivete that breathes Sensitivity, soft and willing to listen When there is the voice Piercing the hollow places, the Shadows, lingering in the most affectionate Reasons, bringing serenity, believing In his eyes I see stars more alive Than any I might find in the night Skies where the darkness Reminds me that I’ll never be As interesting or intriguing As the miracles God has placed here, Where each soul can awaken The flames of everlasting, the faith That embraces the places where Only grace can sign the heart With anything resembling hope In his eyes I see memories, reflections Both beautiful and, like perfection Shining through tears, On dewy lashes, feelings Promising moments that will Reassure, restore, remind the soul This is the wonder of loving, The laughter and the kindness, The sweetness and the fondness, The caring and the warmth Hearts abiding in the dream, the world Where two are one – nothing is as it was Before they were together, learning Growing, becoming pieces of the connection That promises forever – lasting love In his eyes There is a love that I can’t resist In his eyes There shines the image of my best Reflected like stardust hopes, Glittering poetry in the trembling Ache of a love I can’t fake, A love that is awake – and won’t forsake A love that I’ll never mistake – as my own love In his eyes I see love that only God could have born It is love that comes from the knowing Love this strong will be forever growing Love this alive will be like the twinkling in his eyes, The promise of something stronger, something That will last much longer than any other love I’ve known Thanks to him, I know a love that is more real Than the glittering of stars, the serenity in his light The beauty that resides inside the soul who sees This is a love that silences doubts and restores life It is a love as dazzling as the sun’s abundant warmth, As precious as the light that falls across hearts, So gently reminding that this is a love brought to life By a miracle from God’s throne… a miracle It is this love that knows, - In his eyes… Abides joy, tenderness, reflections of all The beautiful that can be found in a face He is the one I will always know… Made my life kinder than before I knew him, The miracle of God’s choosing… the reason I know what it means to feel these feelings, The music that only heaven could have played When I found him, I found my own heart When I looked into his eyes, I knew hope Wherever he smiles, I desire to reside… Reflected there inside, in his eyes… In his eyes
