Poem
We were two peas in a pod I find it odd that we aren’t meant to be We are still best friends made from God I don’t mind the ache as long as I’m free Unable to figure myself out of this ribcage I felt frightened and lonely without you on stage From the inside, it’s hard to move on gracefully Could You get rid of my sin of loving you so easily? I don’t know exactly what you put me through But, you made me feel numb inside Oh, it’s probably the ridiculous things you do That once hurt me, now I simply hide I don’t know exactly what you put me through But, you made me feel high with pride Oh, it’s probably the stupid things we did in our youth too That once healed me from the inside We were lovers, but now you’re a mere friend I find it surprising that you were there through thick and thin We loved one another, then I broke before I bend I want to find relief from this grief from deep down within Unable to figure myself out of this ribcage I felt frightened and lonely without you on stage From the inside, it’s hard to move on gracefully Could You get rid of my sin of loving you so easily? I don’t know exactly what you put me through But, you made me feel numb inside Oh, it’s probably the ridiculous things you do That once hurt me, now I simply hide I don’t know exactly what you put me through But, you made me feel high with pride Oh, it’s probably the stupid things we did in our youth too That once healed me from the inside All my life, I’ve dealt with this strife You cut me like a knife as you live your life Without me in your presence — it’s unbearable — Was I ever significant in your eyes? Without you, I’m feeling extremely uncherishable Tell me right this instant without lies I ask God for merciful deliverance as He is able… For I lived this life from the inside, looking in, so unstable Unable to figure myself out of this ribcage I felt frightened and lonely without you on stage From the inside, it’s hard to move on gracefully Could You get rid of my sin of loving you so easily? I don’t know exactly what you put me through But, you made me feel numb inside Oh, it’s probably the ridiculous things you do That once hurt me, now I simply hide I don’t know exactly what you put me through But, you made me feel high with pride Oh, it’s probably the stupid things we did in our youth too That once healed me from the inside We have been together forever in this bitter hardship We have been never forever lasted in this friendship I pout and I cry for a way to fly away From the inside, looking out I scream aloud to be with you this May To bulldoze this feeling of doubt So, I shout to God both night and day We were two peas in a pod I find it odd it wasn’t meant to be Maybe, if I pray to God, I’d know why you’re not with me
