Poem
Laughter, sometimes, is a lie Living proof that the heart is deceitful, False in ways that crush hope With soundless colors, hues of gray Softly erasing the moments When dreams were reflective, Glowing through the shadows, like starlight Radiating happiness, a growing urge For inspiration’s grace, beautiful drawn From carefully painted seas, With green and blue whispers, shades Smothering the heart with amazing Laughter, sometimes, is dishonest Twofaced as the color gray Who spreads black and white, Without any prejudice Somber, ancient – ashen influence Over the weakest dream, the Hint of stunning who abides on the Spirit of the one who believes Even the lie – the lazy invention From lips who only listen with the intention Falling from faithless, cheating Memories, bold as black – yet, almost As innocent as the white wishes Who sing hope to the chuckle, surround The giggle with a sense of joy Laughter, sometimes – isn’t factual Sometimes, authentic laughter is laughable It can be genuine, but when it is not… It can tremble, deliberately quieting the hope Despairing and desperate, this laugh holds Onto the darkness that abides in its teasing It is such a prankster… often singing Beneath a heart of doubt, gray sagging like The winter skies, frightening and arid, Mellow and mysterious, reminding the heart Laughter without light is seething with Blackness, shadowed by doom and dreading The moment when the laughter is shone For what it is… the hint at sweltering futility, Depression, miserable and filled with dread, Bleak beyond what laughter can silence. Laughter, though bright – can never excite The heart who only hears the secret inside, The stealthy dejection beyond laughter’s expression, The melancholic woe beneath the hollow gray Promise of laughter that can only bring… Desolation and darkness, darkest despondency
