Burn the fat from my bones and remind me,
That I am beautiful because we both know;
I will not believe it until it falls from your lips.
I will catch your words in my cupped hands as I sob on my knees
Praying for nothing but your approval.

What do you think of me…

I was born from your womb and flourished in your arms.
I am you at heart…!

But you still hate me…

Is it self hatred or you simply hating me…?

What did I do wrong to deserve your hands on my body,
Your slaps on my face,
Your kicks in my legs,
And your words in my head.

What could I have done for you to hate me so badly…

Is it how I talk,
Do I talk wrong?

When I breathe in your direction do you shiver?

Do the quills in your back stand in defense when I speak?

Do you really love me as much as you say you do,
Or do you hate me as much as you imply,
As much as you say,
