Inspired by the woodcut, Kiss IV, of himself and Tulla Larsen, held in an embrace. Produced after the end of a 4 year troubled yet intense relationship.

I sink into this embrace for the last time
The arms that hold the most comfort
hold the most pain 
Within and without of your embrace
I struggle as much as I am soothed

Texture that holds me in place with every fibre of my being
Til discomfort causes me to step back
So many times, we've stood on the edge 
Drawn together yet forced apart

A layer of me will always
be here, in this embrace
Held tight
Holding you, in my arms
The warmth of your skin on my cheek
My humanity bound to your caress

Every emotion I am capable of
courses through me in these moments
Drawn to you still, even as I leave
Held in your forever embrace
We felt everything and it was just
too much to bear
We are held in love, at a loss as to why
that is not enough

You are my forever embrace
The emptiness I'll hold 
That I'll feel on my skin
The absence of you, held
in this final goodbye
