Poem
The stars would glisten, just a bit More… like the whispers Falling from hearts who know joy The trees would blow, breathless In the winds, through moments Laughing hues of gentle kindness Displayed on hopes and dreams, Aliveness felt like never before… Promises growing on the open doors Beyond the past, erasing all doubt So the music, soft and tender, warms The spirit in embers of passionate Mysteries, intense and free, in rhythms… The night, gasping in the Summer Hastening through light kisses, Awakening soundless hungers, thirst For the rivers rippling with peacefulness, Craving only the moonlight’s appearing On sapphire skies… alive in the nocturnal Flowing with intimacy, familiar as the secret Blending of hearts and senses, dreams – Fires so alive they stir up passionate poetry, Promises affectionately displayed, unburdening The music in flames, murmuring… The forests wisdom quiets the reasonings, Forming autumn knowing, victorious Racing through the veins in melodies, Reflecting all the singsong twilights, the Personalities of native wings, pleasantly Gurgling on the creeks, persuasive and still Like the smooth stones who never fear Losing their way amid the weakest ache, Falling rains, gentle flakes, nestled soft Against the secluded confidence Two truths sharing the little things, Miracles of faith – wonders in praise The serenity of a devotion far more alive Than memories who tell the spirit – Life will soon end, only to begin again In the heavenly home where we are known As two together, two as one – born To love without conditions, forever and always If I were your love – I’d be eternally abiding Beside you, in life – in death – in paradise With the One who gave us this tenderness, This reason for believing in love’s everlasting Light, the flames that were ignited and burn Throughout eternity, such a sight – so bright Burning into the horizon, loving words, feelings… If I were your love – I’d be like this endless flame, Forever glimmering, blazing, glowing with the gaze Intense and furious, in a spark that stirs the beautiful In hearts, in souls, in spirits – with a love that is endless, Love that is our miracle! If I were your love – this would always be enough! If I Were Your Love Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mystic Rose Rose April 19, 2023
