Poem
Trembling she grins, beaming resonating in shadows Soft and delicate flashes, Wiping at bruised faith Contemplating second chances Now fading, falling away Like the silence within a dream After the music creates Guitar promises, harmony From the darkness Where she remains only The stillness beneath Heavy reflections - soothing Coloring her illness, Multiple sclerosis In hues of richest wisdoms Insights to protect her from listening To the dark, the fragile, the weakness It is her strength, her conviction Lying through the images, the wishes Telling her, in brave sighs She will surely get well Never mind – the doctor’s Details, the diagnosis Frail, dissecting her grief Remembering the way Everyone has to face pain – even this Some way, some day It is impossible to mourn This memory long gone, her Fears will sing a song, Like the melody found in oaks Dancing through the wind Woods stirred by the breathe Only God could exhale In time, she will respond With prayers that never fail Her fears grow pale – in comparison To the details, the temptation Dread spreads like the branches In the strong, faithful tree Who waits, quietly – for the wind To chase its branches, its muscles Quivering beneath the weight Staggering on through Storms that betray its weakest Boughs, its faintest ache, The twinge of guilt softening Limbs who listen, hushing Away the darkness, risking all Hope for the chance of healing Will this disease reveal Her fears and tears, The way silence fades into Shadows burning away The past, the memories of times When her only worries were Defined by forgotten dreams, Echoing beneath wings As she soared – gliding into Reveries who sincerely believed This time, there would be no need For the song of grace, melting Burdens into hours full of black Will she fly again? Will she know the victory? One tear blinds her heart As she vibrates with doubts Hesitating to believe in recovery
