You say you used to dream but now you’re old
and have no more dreams in you?
and you say you have no more gas in the trunk?
that life has not been good to you

That your arthritis is too painful
that you might have the big ‘C’, cancer
and your big toe has an ingrown toe nail?
I say so what?

Do you write with your big toe?
if it hurts, take care of it
Does your arthritis stop you from writing?
rub something on it

If you have the big ‘C’, well, that’s life old friend
write your hard earned legacy while there’s still time
old or young we all dream even when approaching death
death is what it is… and it’s only a breath away

Who doesn’t have something screwy on or in our bodies?

You’re tired you say
your motivation and your creativity have gone
and the rain has stopped and there’s no rainbow
boo hoo, baby, so what?

Nobody promised you a rainbow 
maybe you're the rainbow, the creator, that will write beautiful poems
beautiful stories that will make a difference in somebody's life 
and gives them places where reverie exists and calms the jittery heart

Where it lives in pure ecstasy

Maybe you are the one that takes minds on wondrous flights
you are the creator, the writer
who'll bring dead, lonely lives to breathe clear 
and make unicorns cry

You take defeated minds on journeys of undreamt successes
you inculcate inspiration between the truths and falsehoods of life
of venerable insights and undreamt desires
you are the mystical muse who implores my gut to write again

My dreams of long ago
slowly helped me find homes for my lost forgotten poems 
pleading to be released from their dungeons of despair 
to find a home of release and respite

WE ARE WRITERS
NEVER FORGET THAT!
WE ARE CREATORS!
WE HAVE THE POWER TO LIFT SPIRITS WITH OUR WORDS AND IMAGES

Fearlessly go forth into that dark but beautiful place you call your mind 
know that in you laziness or indolence do not exist 
stop whining, pick up your pen, pencil and write…anything!
or sit at your typewriter or keyboard and dream, big dreams!!! 
                              NOW!!!
