Let me tell you a story ... Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist, who, to save the life of his sick father, a stunt rider also, gives his soul to the devil. But, the devil lies because though cured he dies doing a stunt. The devil tells him forget about friends, family and the love of his girlfriend Roxanne. Years pass and Johnny is working his show, Leap of Death, like he has a death wish. When he is at the height of his fame, the devil puts him to work and he becomes the devils bounty hunter fighting demons. He meets Cowboy Ghost Rider(retired) in a graveyard, the only place demons cannot go and they work together for awhile. Cowboy teaches him much about being a Ghost Rider. And Roxanne comes back into his life for awhile but she cannot stay in the dangerous life he now has. During the day he is his human form and wears a spiked leather jacket with chains and jeans but at night transforms at will or when evil is near. His flesh is consumed with ethereal fire causing his head to be a flaming skull. He rides his fiery motorcycle fast, faster than any other, it can cross water, and leap long distances, and he flings blasts of fire with his skeletal hands, and yields his chain of fire, leaving waves of fire destruction in his path. No one can defeat him, no one can be saved from his stare that sucks out souls of the evil. Ghost Rider has superhuman strength, he is more powerful than any other, he has stamina, endurance, speed, agility, reflexes, hearing, and Hellfire, and so much more, and is immune to pain. Basically, indestructible, only God can destroy him. He defeats the the devils demons and becomes a Superhero, The Spirit of Vengeance, fighting against Lucifer and the devil, Mephisto, the Arch- Demon and other threats. He is freed of his curse in the The Spirit of Vengeance, but asks for it back so he can fight evil that exists in the world. I like to think that he was freed from his curse, in time, and I think he was, for there have been other Ghost Riders, since Johnny Blaze. I hope he spent his remaining years as perhaps a drifter, an adventurer, and eventually the owner of a carnival where he could do daredevil stunts on his motorcycle and had peace at last with his love Roxanne. That's what I wish for Johnny Blaze ... _____________________ March 04, 2023 Poetry/Prose/Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider Copyright Protected, ID 03-1529-395-04 All Rights Reserved, 2023, Constance La France Written for the Premiere contest, Marvel and DC Superhero or Supervillian sponsor, Robert James Liguori, Judged 03/04/2023 First Place
