*Bear with the length of this poem. It is very important regarding the Palestine, Ohio Catastrophe. One of the biggest environmental disasters has happened in Palestine, Ohio But, the people there are left in it without adequate help! There are tons of gallons of toxic chemicals left over from the fire. Residents have been interviewed and many are sick daily. They are getting rashes, burned skin, coughing up blood, migraines, vomiting, etc The government NEVER sent FEMA to help as they have with other disasters The president only sent the CDC to knock on doors and track symptoms. Residents are saying doctors tell them, they are sick with chemicals, but do not know what to do? There is no assistance for the people in this town, allowing them to move far away for a length of time. The worst example is when a man who works with filtration, tried to donate water filters for free to these people. The government EPA and DOJ actually stepped in and told him to stop! How can our own government stop a citizen from helping others? The EPA continue to say to the people, the town is safe to be there. This contradicts with the fact they are trying to move tons of toxic material to 'Secure' facilities in other states with putting some of it 60 feet below ground! In addition, other individuals from outside of that area have gone there to do testing and found the toxicity levels very high! Not only are these people neglected horribly by the government, but also ignored by the main stream media! They are forgotten in exactly this way! Thankfully, independent media have gone to there help and to show truth. There is video of the dead deer near the river and dead small animals on the railroad tracks. Thankfully the residents are given the opportunity to speak because of those who do care. Also, we now have people and areas at a distance, being affected by all this. The toxins, not only traveled North with the plume mushroom cloud, made when they burned it, sending birds and wildlife fleeing in the Northeast; But cars were covered with dust in Southern New Hampshire and authorities would not act on it. In addition, toxins are still clearly coming North in the weather systems. The animals are still gone in Northern NH. There is also severe lack of birds. Most importantly, in some areas, the snowfall smells like burnt chemicals! When the snow is shoveled and moved around or blowing it is very strong and brings on immediate symptoms. Headache, burning throat, congestion or nausea. It passes after a while of being inside. ALL of this must be brought to attention with this ongoing catastrophe. We must NOT let such a horrifying situation play out as it is with being ignored! This is NOT who we are, as Americans! This is evil and inhumane beyond comprehension! Please stay safe everyone and pray for the people affected and the wildlife too! Thank you for reading this. Heidi Sands 3/1/23
