Come, Holy Spirit, breath of life divine,
Enkindle in us a love that will shine,
A flame that burns with unquenchable fire,
A passion that lifts us ever higher.

Grant us the gift of wisdom, to discern,
The truth that lies beyond what we learn,
To see the world with eyes made new,
And understand all that we pursue.

Breathe in us your understanding deep,
That we may know the secrets that you keep,
Of God's great plan for all of humankind,
And seek the ways in which we're designed.

Instill in us your knowledge pure,
That we may ever seek to find the cure,
For all the ills that plague our world,
And work to see the flag of peace unfurled.

Stir up within us the gift of counsel wise,
To lead us on the path that you devise,
And guide us with your loving hand,
To live as you would have us stand.

Pour forth your fortitude, your strength and might,
That we may ever stand up for what is right,
And never falter in the face of strife,
But rise above the fray with grace and life.

Grant us the gift of piety, to adore,
The God who is our strength forevermore,
And keep us close to you in prayer,
That we may find our peace in you and there.

And finally, O Holy Spirit, impart to us,
The gift of fear of the Lord that's just,
To reverence God's greatness and his grace,
And serve him always with a steadfast pace.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts with light,
That we may ever walk in your sight,
And be the living temples of God's love,
In a world that needs your grace above.
