Poem

As a new born baby,                                                                                        we come into life with a blank slate.                                                                  As we grow,                                                                                                 we will write upon our slate.                                                                          Some of our early writings                                                                                                         may come from the family we are living with.                                                  Since we all start out with a blank slate,                                                         how will we let others influence us.                                                                         When others around us lie,                                                                             we then learn to lie.                                                                                    Now our blank slate,                                                                                            has liar written on it.                                                                                       Our blank slate,                                                                                     gets filled up with both bad and good.                                                            The good also gets listed,                                                                                like the time we helped others with our time or money.                                   One day our blank slate,                                                                                will be all filled up.                                                                                            Upon this day our life is now over,                                                                          how will the slate be read.                                                                        Will the good outweigh the bad,                                                                            guess only time and God will tell.
