Poem
I started dying when my life started My life started when l first met you They never told me that love hurts And they didn't tell me that it was going to be easy As the clock ticks my love for you grows Loving you is my curse It is killing me Yet it is the only thing that is keeping me intact It is the only thing worth smiling about Deep in the woods Lying under a tree I am a young man A typical countryboy Seeking any source of comfort I cherish my every smile Even though love motivates me Pain inspires me My happiness does not last Loneliness is my only friend And sadness is my norm Deep in the woods I thought l had nothing to give Until it finally hit me I could give you my heart What if l gave you my heart My old dusty heart Would you accept it Would you brush it clean Willing to see what is beneath the dust I ask myself questions Why Why do roses have thorns Is it because love has to end badly Or is it just because the motives are always not right Why does love hurt Is it because we love too much Or do we just expect too much from love Why is life so unfair Are we lacking wisdom Does it just have to be this way Why is sadness stronger than joy Is it the world we live in Or is it just us What What gives birth to tears Is it a lot of emotions Or are they just an expression What really makes the world go round What does time have to do with life If time is money And money is the root of all evil Does that mean that time is bad If time really heals old wounds Then what happens to good broken hearts How How do we smile in face of tragedy Is it because we are strong Or we just do not have a choice How do tears lighten a heavy heart Do they make it float Or juss divert our attention How does time mend a broken heart Does it teach us how to live with the pain Or just make us forget
