Thank you for your part in the story of my life. You were fundamental to some good memories.

Thank you for 
Being my teacher
I've never forgotten the lessons
They reached me

Even when I was a rebel
Gathering knowledge 
And wisdom
Was my refuge

You may not 
Remember
All those moments
Of literary pleasure

I buried myself in 
Shakespeare and poetry
Words and language 
So creative

I still remember 
Our conversations
About the poem, "The Horses"

My ability to intuit 
Deeper meaning

You gave me courage 
To be myself
