Poem
I gave a piece of myself, Something gentle and true Trickling with teardrops, Melting the darkness, the fear With kindness and carefully Laced feelings, beauty – honesty Sincere as the wind, rustling Laughter from the dawn Where I laid up all my memories, Dreams alive in hues so warm It feels like they are alive, Baking in the sun I gave a part of my heart, Without pride or arrogance Dressed in grace, tender faith Pouring hope like a rainstorm Drenches the moments in Miraculous nourishment, reassuring The hungry soul with an embrace From the best inspiration, Like the imagination’s whisper As it glimpses wonders beyond surrender Sensations willing to tremble, Like the ache of a smile who is wise, A light so brilliant it stirs hope And feelings so faithful, so grateful Like a prayer, breathed from the past Remembered in the moment When the answer encourages, blesses Caresses the spirit with belief Echoes of dreams, starving for sustenance, Embraces, kisses – a touch From the heartfelt moment when love Strokes the day with silence, The night with moonlight rising I gave a slice of light Caressing life, illuminating Shadows with a fire, desires Swift and strong, more powerful Than the silhouette of dawn, The ghost of a moment When my heart lunged forward, Breaking through the fear Hushing the past with all its doubt So hope glistens like the stars In the summer skies, Revealing the flickering joy, Firefly adventures – twinkling In the distance, miracles Lifting wings in beating tales Staring just beyond the laughter Into the blazing passions, Flaming infernos of exhilaration Promising the peace That only comes to life in the one Who listens to the stillness Found in the hope of the Son I gave into the Savior Since then I have kindled Silence so I can hear Its praises, its prayers, its ways Into the moments when His hand reaches just beyond My worries, my doubts Relieving my spirit of its fear, Singing grace into my soul, Calming, comforting, proving to me Love is worth everything I do for it And more, so very much more!
