Poem

I used to dream.

 Wished upon many stars that my Knight would come, rescue me.

Save me from the wicked witch of depression, fill an emptiness felt within.

Then I woke, realized what an illusion.

I am my own Knight, I have rescued my own soul.

I have released myself of the dark, cold dungeons.

It was I who escaped alone.

 No one waiting on the other side.

To race me away to a brighter side.

The wicked witch of depression is once again trying to reappear.

She thinks since I have aged, I am weak.

 I will conquer her once again.

The whispers of loneliness I hear echoing within are the wicked witch’s way to find control, to find a weakness, to take hold.

I will cleanse her from my soul.  I will watch, see her banished from my dreams.

Her poisons will not sit in the hollows of my hall

Her minions, her evil wizards that follow me in the guise of love, I vanquish to their own nightmare.

With my loyal dragon by my side I will keep my freedom,  I will continue to fly.
