What is a credit score? It is a 3 digit number that companies use to decide “IF” they want to lend you their money by giving you a loan or approving you for a credit card (with a higher interest rate for the poor of course). However, please understand, you should NOT allow this “number” to define who you are as a person. This world is being conformed into believing that a credit score is a form of necessity. What it is saying is, if you have a “certain” credit score, you are eligible, you are “worthy,” you are deserving and considered of higher importance. A "certain" credit score has been made so relevant that it produces fear, disappointment, gratitude and pride and all these other balanced and unbalanced emotions upon individuals. With a “high” credit score, you are treated with royalty, highly looked upon as very responsible, and an outstanding individual, but God forbid by chance you have “NO” credit, bad credit, or not “enough” credit, you are looked upon as a piece of ssh, not trust worthy of my business, skeptical, not responsible and not dependable. You are looked down upon and rejected and then, you get this piece of letter in the mail saying “your application was not approved.” But what did they base it on? Well, it was based on what “THEY” said. And who are “THEY?” The “Credit Police.” People go overboard with a credit score over 750, and don’t let it be in the 800’s, ssh, they may rub your feet and clean behind your ears to get your business. Oh you big time with an 800 credit score. So here’s the thing, when they run your credit score, it can take a “soft” hit or a “hard” hit (but to me, a hit is a hit) and depending on the hit and how many hits can lower your credit score even more. So, if you got 3 hard hits, them hits can last 2 to 3 years on your credit report. Now mind you, if your credit score was borderline low to low, now from those hits, you are even lower than low and now it’s even harder for you to build your credit back up just to the minimum where you were at before. And then for you beginners, you are being denied because you don’t have “NO” credit. A beginner with NO credit can’t even get approved for an apartment, that they have to pay for, and they are not borrowing no money from the bank for, but still, they “need” credit. No credit is just like bad credit in a way. It’s like a no win situation sometimes. A credit check is not even just used for a bank loan anymore. They run a credit check for anything now, for an apartment, for electricity, for cable, for the water company, for a cell phone, next they gon want a credit check for Amazon, Uber eats and Doordash. But don’t get it twisted, some people who were qualified and considered having “good” credit still have had cars repossessed, houses in foreclosure, run up credit cards and don’t pay, get qualified for loans, get the money, make 6 months of payments on a 36 month loan and then say, the hell with it and stop paying it and the only thing you can do is put them in the credit bureau, yeah, the credit jail, but do you think they care? Hell no, and now their credit is “messed up.” Oh well. Let me explain this to you people, stop stressing over all this credit crap and this world’s form of credit and get yo credit right with God. “DO NOT be conformed to the things of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” DO NOT let your credit score stress you, worry you, depress you, lower your self-esteem, or have you out right frustrated or hopeless. I don’t worry if I’m not approved by “them,” whoever them is. I am approved by God and that’s all that matters to me. Keep in mind, in life, what God has for you is for you. And what God has for you does NOT require a credit score or man’s approval. That house was yours, that car was yours, that job was yours… not because “man” said so, but because God said so. So chill, get you some rest and remember, a credit score is NOT a requirement to get into heaven, because a person with an 800 credit score can still go to hell… just saying.
