Dragging out the thoughts and ideas
Intent on an inquisition of my very soul
The "why" as likely as the "why not"
Introspection so intense as to nullify 
Any point in being even if it were found
Spending my time looking inward
Whilst all time is frittered away
The answer awaits on my death bed
Where I mutter of the wasted life
Looking for meaning in an empty room 
A random collection of cells
Find stillness, haze and crisis
To look is not to find
Lost in a hall of mirrors
My changing shape must be understood 
I study each form meticulously
Until the circus moves to the next town
Then no more mirrors, just memory 
If I could crystallise what I wish to know
I'd laugh out loud
There is no meaning behind shifting form
How clever to know that I waste my time
Waiting for the circus to return
For the answers on my inner self lie there
The travelling circus folk I seek
Again I laugh
Seeking nonsense in the least likely places
What of time ticking on
I'm on a mission
