Climb your poetry mountain, today!
Stop sitting in the vallies of yesterday .
Be deeply in love again, sing your own sweet song.
Do not imitate others your whole life long!


How utterly boring, to just conform.
Kick up the dust, leave the norm-dorm.
Above all, write more difficult poetry.
Not just slipping by with just normality.


Just the idea of writing mediocrity?
Stop it now, more to poetry than just hilarity.
Be the very best, most outstanding, you.
The world is full of mediocre fools!



Outdo yourself, swing on an amethyst star.
People will do all in their power to see you 
not go far.
Please, no need for loathsome, false flattery.
It’s like winning a fake ticket to the lottery.


True friends here care for you in failure and
in success.
Those who do not…you have nothing to miss.
If you never got a trophy, it is no big deal.
A trophy makes no poet a big,  shiny wheel.


Do you have the courage to publish at other sites!!
If you are good enough, the world will know
your poetic might.
Poetry is anything but a loathsome shopping list.
It has a history, that we do not learn or, somehow 
dismiss?



I will be waving to you from my mountain,
Supporting you in your poetic passion.
Be you fully, get out of that dark closet.
A poet can be a Republican, they are here,
hiding under bonnets.


Democrats express themselves openly, why not you?
Republicans soup mail, but rarely express
themselves in this public venue.
Don’t be afraid, like a small, frightened kitten.
Republicans here are afraid to be unduly 
smitten!


There are also more than Christians here!
Why is only Christ ever mentioned, what’s the
big fear?
Others religions have holidays they do celebrate!
Don’t hide your religious candles behind the poetry gate!


Poetry Soup at this time, is an open avenue of free
speech.
But if we don’t use it…one day, it will be sadly out of reach!
This is our time, this is our chance, to not get stomped by the censorship dance!


You hold in your hand, the power of the pen!
Use it, today, now, I do not mean ….when.
Sure, we write about the losses in the Ukraine!
But what about your country, running low on
food, heating oil and gas…the angst, the pain?
This poet had to go to a foreign country’s news channel to get a true news flash.
It hurt me to see so many international poets here,who their own countries problems, are muffled under a sash!
