"Has solitude ever led your steps down a forest path . . . " Quote by Constance La France Where crickets chirp and birds harmonize With leaves who breathe in… rich colors, hues Burgundy whispers and amber mysteries, Dancing through time, imitating the rhymes Discovered in the lights, rays passing by… Satisfying smiles, nature’s insights Into the soul who knows The abundance of words, even unheard… Can never erase the sights and sounds Pouring from the earth, breathing inspiration Freeing the imagination… for the luxury of love Glowing in the starlight shimmers, abiding In the intimate glimmers of sunshine smiles, Everlasting serenity flowing through the flames, Burning away the past’s blaze, the doubts, The dread, the fears and tears… all wiped away By the hand of nature’s moist rain, her soothing Grace, abiding in the air… Carrying away the melancholy night, In hands far surer than any doctor’s knife, Dissecting my life, cutting away the sacrifice It is in the sigh of lavender violets, Tender caresses of dandelion, vibrating hope Answering the prayers of a heart who is… Silenced by the echoes of freedom, Fulfilling the desires inside the dreams, The insecurities left to swim… In pools of darkness, dimmed By mossy rocks, slippery Praising as the oaks, the pine…. Promising no soul is left behind Picture the flow of a quiet stream, Graceful, gushing, growing… fluid feelings Running over the moments, sinuous waves Inspiring the serenity of a place, nature’s tears Fall soft against the beginnings of something So real, so real that the silence speaks… Shouting, screaming, screeching Crying out to the rich earth… Is the heart ready? Can the mind ever know…. The meaning within a dewdrop, tender and slow Dipping the petal in the forest’s surreal pull… Will God ever release my heart from the concrete Pavement B L A C K and defeating my hope… While my invisible tears blend with the sigh of sprays Dampening the woody memories, the prayers Who honor nature’s trembling rays as they pour across Spirits, believing the wild… the creatures, the character… Growing old in the reflections, the presence Softly stirring the muse to life Nature’s persona writes the twinkle in my eyes When I smile… she lifts an approving brow… The wispy wish of a passion for His gifts The Creator’s art is in this – nature’s bliss WRITING CHALLENGE - ''V'' Forms Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Constance La France Form Chosen: Verse Theme Chosen: Nature November 14, 2022
