Do You Love Yourself in God’s Will? Do you think you love your soul as much as I do? You should honor this fact: You’re a part of God’s will for my life, and your dregs are a buoyance, lift boat of my soul! Who’s more blessed? And who sleepwalks through rhymes where a heart is laid bare? Are my boundaries walls you’ve got right (and should violate) seeking what’s True? Is that message from Christ, sourced by your sinful soul? To “give Caesar what’s owed” (1) (and so honor man’s laws) is a call to respect ALL our siblings in Christ. To declare you “know” God (and think you’ve got the right to tell others what’s true) PROVES you don’t grok God’s love! (2) Does your heart’s love eclipse light from heaven above, or are blessings God plants in your path brighter light? Is a “love” you can trust more a love that you heist or a love you secure through a threat (fang and claws)? Is love’s gift more your purpose or sought (a frail goal)? What is said here’s my gift (or, more humbly, a view I am longing to share), but I’m open to calls that may question my muse-sage (with Grace toward my crimes). That my worth pays the rent feels a chance more remote. What’s True moistens what’s dry; Its warmth heartens souls’ chill. May Christ’s Grace prove sin’s cure ‘till this world says, “Adieu!” Brian Johnston November 8th in 2022 Poet’s Notes: (1) In speaking of about the legality of taxes, Christ said, “…Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” (2) Shouldn’t all faithful followers of Christ not take more notice of the implicit humility of Christ’s words in John 12:44? “…He who believes in me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me,” and in John 12:49, where Christ says, “For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.”
