Poem
My leg died on a Friday when the specialists were away In the ambulance I was alone, terrified and taken to a room in hospital with flaky walls painted a dull grey The agonizing pain did not stop with the meds they gave me on that day Until I was given Morphin, this worked and kept the intense pain at bay For over a week I was prodded from head to toe The doctor's discussing my case could not find the cause, they did not know What ailed this 17 year old was something that had come out of the blue None of the experts had a clue The fever crept up and was so high They made their decision and said I would die There I was alone, scared and in a foreign country to top it all A new doctor popped in to visit me later that same day He checked my chart, then yelled at those doctors to listen to what he had to say His diagnosis was spot on And I am deeply grateful to have been in the care of this wise specialist I had a massive clot in my leg; what a twist He found the cause And stopped the painful bed sores My leg in traction, not free I had been in five different wards because of five doctors who couldn't agree Until Mr. Robert Stone came along, a special man who saved me and to whom I'm as grateful as can be! Mr. Robert Stone - God Bless you!
