Kabodlute loved to toot on a three fingered bamboo flute, In his backyard, under a tree, folks would see his three fingers running free. He wanted to be famous when grown and have a five fingered flute of his very own. Kabodlute told his friends, He told his mother, He told his aunt, And her brother! They all laughed at his dream and made him feel sad. Then he got mad! "I'll show them," he said. And off to the woods he went! Down by the stream. Next to the bamboo to create his dream. Now Kabodlute was not very tall, And his hands were quite small. But holding on as high as he could reach, Kabodlute held onto the top of a bamboo frond and bent it back with all his weight. SUDDENLY!!!! The bamboo frond straightened and sent Kabodlute sailing into the sky. His gown caught the wind and he began to fly! Over hills and valleys, Across mountains and streams, Past fields and forests. Until the wind slowed and he fell softly to the ground. His tunic saved him from a bumpy landing. When he got up and brushed himself off, Kabodlute was surprised to find the bamboo frond was still in his hand. He whisked out his whittling knife that all boys carry in every land. Kabodlute carried his in a hole in his shoe. Carefully stripping the leaves from the frond, he carved five holes. Poking the knife into each end of the hollow bamboo frond, he made a flute. Folding the blade, he put his knife away. Next he spit on the grain and polished the wood with the edge of his tunic. Then it was done! Taking a deep breath of air and placing his fingers over the holes, He blew softly into one end of the flute. The notes flew out of the five fingered flute! Whisking into the air, Over to the nearest town, Into the ear of the king of musicians who was lounging around. The notes grabbed his ears and dragged him out the door, Wrestled him over to the outskirts of town, Where Kabodlute was playing the sound. He listened and exclaimed," you will be world famous! Please play again." A few days later, Kabodlutes mother got a note, So did his friends, his aunt, and her brother. It said....... Please come and attend the first concert ever of the soon to be world famous Kabodlute and his five fingered flute at the king of musicians palace on Saturday at 1:00PM. And they all did!
