FIRST LOVE

I was hooked on first sight, the first love of my life
But then I went and lost you, and it cut me like a knife
A timeless moment frozen And I couldn't really see
The impact of my feelings, and what you meant to me

To see you with another guy was more than I could bear
I longed to tell you how I felt, but I just didn't dare
I was cool and pretentious, in front of all our friends
Acting cool and cocky, and the message that it sends

Gordon is a moron, and he's not the only one
I made no attempt to rectify, the damage I had done
I became the king of fools, the day I let you go
Would that attempt have won you back, I guess I'll never know

I once stood at a crossroads and decided I must find
A way to live a new life, and leave the other one behind
Though circumstances happen, and we lived our lives apart
You will always occupy, a place within my heart
