Poem
...“I will not just kill you,”she then proclaimed, “That is too easy, I will make you hurt! When your dread becomes real, I will come bite one, then leave you ’till the change has done it’s work. “And when the hunger has become too great, you will look to the survivor to feed! You, Holy Man, or Vampire Hunter, will have to watch as the other one bleeds! “You will have to feel your soul drift away, feel the monster that’s within you grow strong, and since I turned you, you will be my slave, bound to serve my will for centuries long! “But I am not without pity for you, and I’ll leave it up to you to decide, who gets to live at the end of my leash, and who gets to pass on early and die!” She laughed again, and Marton shook his head, but the poor priest looked utterly afraid. “I cannot become a demon like her!” were the frantic, panicked words that he said. Marton motioned the man to calm himself, explained who he was, and the job he worked, said,”Father, I’ve killed vampires before, and for a long time I’ve been hunting her.” The priest shook where he stood, and then declared, “But we’re both naked as the day we were born? Where are your stakes, your silver and garlic? We have no weapons, just reasons to mourn!” He thought for a second, seeing his point, she must’ve drugged them to achieve this state, but as he thought he felt nature calling, such an awful time, but it wouldn’t wait. But that brought a thought clear into his mind, one so simple he cursed he’d not seen it, he whispered, “Father, I need a blessing, I have a plan you must play along with…” It was an hour before she returned, and this time through the high hatch she emerged, both of them lay down, feigned to be asleep, Marton could smell cold death coming off her. He sat up slowly, saw Adelina’s frame, the curves that had once cluttered his young mind, say the ghostly skin, and the plump red lips, eyes of mystery you could not define. She looked at him and said, “Lover of old, what say you now? Which of you will be turned?” The priest sat up to, and looked to Marton, he looked back at her and his eyes did burn. “We’ve decided that the priest should be bit, he has told me of his life of regret, vows of poverty, and no female touch, says such a life he’ll no longer abet. “Sure being undead may not be that great, but he can at least sate his appetites. The man volunteered to be bit by you, so do it and then watch me die tonight...” CONLCLUDES IN PART III
