Poem
There is something in the human spirit that cries out aloud even in the middle of silence, there is something in the human spirit that is so deep that it connects with something inconceivable and unbelievable. It is rapping on the door of something that is not there, yet you can feel it twirling around in the wind looking for a place to escape but something keeps holding it back. It is beating against mired waves on the grounded shores, seeping through branch and leaves and saturating in the breeze. The silence of the heart is sending you an important message, the type of message that cannot be scripted on the page or written in ink. It is the silence that speaks when I look into your eyes, it is the silence that abides in the skies, and it is the silence that burns when you are by my side. You wait for something dynamic to happen but you end up shedding a little tear when I look around and you are not there, and in that split second you hear a tiny whisper but nothing is there to start the next chapter and so the silence lingers and it gets louder. You can choose to embrace it or you can choose to let it go. It is the silence of an unscripted voice speaking to you when you are sitting in the dark, it travels when we are millions of miles apart, and it is the silence that resonate deep down in the heart. The days creeps and dust filters in the street carrying bits of papers in the wind pulling together matter flowing through space and forming a special energy that is profound and building a mass in the deep. It is the silence that never speaks. It is the silence that rapture the heart beat. The sea bears its bosom in the full moon and the shadows of silence lurk in the dark droplets of water penetrate the surface wetting the conscience of of the dead. I have searched hard and long for that connection where our souls can wed but you kept reminiscing the dead. The spirit of grief is so profound and only the grieving person can tell the tales of its magnitude and where it is bound. I am waiting for you to come and break this silence, I am waiting for you to come and touch the heavens. My seconds have turned into minutes, my minutes have filtered into hours, my patient hours have evaporated into days and those days have translated into weeks. The weeks suddenly became months of longing and hoping and those months have turned into years of lingering and my desires burns scorching everything in its path, chasing the animals out of the bushes and making way for purity. What it would have been like if you were here, what it would have been like if we had something to share, we would stare at each other’s in silence piecing together a solid plan to escape from that distant land. My heart is so strong and my will is carrying me along and I am waiting for you to touch the silence and arose the laughter in me.
