It is quite evident that the up and coming ruler of the New World Order during the future seven year tribulation and the great tribulation period of planet earth has not yet been revealed. All because his Holy Spirit restrainer is still presence and dwelling inside the spirits of ever born believer of Jesus Christ. Including every born again Jew, Christian, Muslim etc.

He has to come from the nations that sacked the city of Jerusalem in 70 AD. That includes: North Africa, the Mediterranean and the western portion of the European Union. Many Bible scholars believe he will be a Muslim. But Muslims will be a scarcity during the tribulation because of the Gog and Magog war. But that does not eliminate Muslims entirely. He has been referred to as "the Assyrian" in the old testament of the Bible. 

Those scholars who claim that he must come from the European Union and the Mediterranean region ignore the fact that the Roman empire was divided equally between both the east and the west.  And those who claim he must be a Muslim ignore the fact about the western half of the Roman empire.

If you know the identity of the Antichrist, you have probably been left behind during the tribulation period, and the wrath of the Lamb of God. A great apostasy must happen before the Antichrist can even become revealed. The word apostasy means a "great falling away of the truth." And certainly a great falling away will occur after the rapture of all of the born again Christians of the church aged saints both the dead and the living. 

But the great apostasy also means more than people falling away from the truth of God and falling for the great deception that immediately follows. It also refers to the Rapture because the term also refers to a "great catching away." Those are the words most associated with the future up and coming rapture.

The Antichrist first arrives  as a "rider on the white horse'riding forth conquering and to conquer. He will have a single crown upon his head and be having a bow without an arrow attached to it.

He is not Jesus Christ! And he will not make his appearance on the earth until the ending of the great tribulation period. He will also be riding upon a white horse and wearing many crowns. He will bringing with him the angelic and heavenly saints armies with him at the conclusion of the Battle of Armageddon. And those invading armies outside of Jerusalem will unite and attack him instead!
