Life is . . .  touched by death. At an early age when my sister was killed
it changed me forever. I went from a happy child to one of deep quietness.
My life existed only in my mother's beautiful backyard garden among her
plants and flowers.  But, before you are sad for me, this is where the bud
of a poet was beginning to bloom.  My father took me on nature walks in
the forests and taught me all he knew, we shared wonderful days hiking
and appreciation of nature became my life.  When father died suddenly
my life was shattered, but after writing a poem for my father's funeral
I found my poetic voice and poetry became my life . . . 

 the green forest calls  
and the birds sing operas . . . 
                      earths pounding heartbeat 

Life is . . .  giving each thought, sadness, and experience a reason to pen
a poem, like breathing poetry has become my life, without writing I would
surely die.  It must sound like I feed my ego but it is escape from this world's reality, wars, starvation, pollution and the cruelty and abuse to people and animals, I need to have a place to go, hide sometimes, and that is often into my life of poetry . . . 

the roaring sea waves
crashing endlessly on rocks . . . 
                       earths pounding heartbeat
