Poem
Moonlight rains down on the souls Who find inspiration in night’s echoes Stars, shimmering their laughter, playing In limitless dances, graceful and pure Floating aimlessly, through the sky Caressing the tree tops with breathless Rays of intimate praise, prayers Breathed out on a wishful whisper Music playing as stars keep dancing Starry skies and moonlit smiles Reflect on the joy found in the knowing Hearts who know this wonder, Like creatures of the night who embrace The silence of this familiar space This darkness glowing with webs spun By stars who abide on the hearts Who listen to the drifting praises The hues of hope so graceful, charming Silence stirs the soundless streams Waves of light singing through the night Awakening spirits who know the brilliant Hues of intimacy, flowing tenderness Through moments of brilliant thoughts Penetrating promises from the hearts Who know that God’s light shines down Through the stars flung across the sky Praising in sparkling dreams of delight Whimsical awakenings, flames of life Fall heedless of their landing, alive Like the promise of a kiss from true love Touching the spirit with gentle sighs Singing laughter through the ones who smile Wistful and warm, welcoming His glow Through the webs spun by stars who dance Waltzing in breathes of victorious praise Whispering His praises through the darkness Through joy and fear, heedless of tears There is peace, serene and uplifting Beating out a rhythm in the spirit Collecting moonbeams and starlight With hands meant to be lifted to heaven Praising and praying, silencing the demons Who take away hope and freedom Leaving only the night’s soundless dream In dreams, I lift up my arms, my thoughts To the One who gives me hope Sends wonders to lift me up Prepares me for the times of loss Reassures me and reminds me I am more Than the night’s mortality, I am one Who listens and heeds the One who is life Who is the giver of peace and love The One who sings through the stars And lights up the hearts and souls Who know He is the night’s master light Not just a creature, but the Creator Creatures of the Night poetry contest Sponsored by Julia Ward June 11, 2022
