“The Waiting” eyes close the new chapter picks us up we find ourselves lost in the poetic dream stranded in a desert a lifetime away from home we are in the waiting place writing words in the sand they are blown away like each cortex in the brain just eternal time remains the distinguishing between real and dream disappearing bit-by-bit, closer to the finish line we pin ourselves to walls like butterflies watching words and moments reviewed we are scrutinised mercilessly by our own minds we place our trust in the gossamer promises in ancient stories spoken the waiting captures us in its palms of what if, what for we think we know it all but we don’t we wait in the game of it all flying past us mistranslated messages prophecies, in truth, undecipherable the meanings, there are many how could we understand we are not gods, we are man silent hyenas gather in the confines of the glassy mirror before us, all compartmentalised in their dark night, laughing their last laughs they circle still hungry and intent the owls of Ba’al hoot like clocks chiming midnight waiting for the Sun like a great lord to rise from sleep throw open his doors small gods and ghosts console and reassure us and we wait in the waiting place like lost servants shuffling each other in line like playing cards for what we think is coming lost in our belief we think we know it all we look for open doors prayer rugs on our walls the waiting never ends it sings so many stings we listen to the never ending sucked in the breath of it all numb and open we are magnets we close our windows for fear of drawing something other in we shut our doors to others when Time calls, this shocks us for weren’t we good, the Lot of us, at all? The time of sleep calls we dream to escape tomorrow we dream it never folds nor falls (LadyLabyrinth / 2022) Sounds of the Desert | Night Time Desert Ambience | Sleep & Relax https://youtu.be/6T7zuo8k3oc "Elohim was, in logical terminology, the genus of which ghosts, Chemosh, Dagon, Baal, and Jahveh were species. The Israelite believed Jahveh to be immeasurably superior to all other kinds of Elohim. The inscription on the Moabite stone shows that King Mesa held Chemosh to be, as unquestionably, the superior of Jahveh.” Thomas Henry Huxley, The Evolution Of Theology: An Anthropological Study https://www.britannica.com/topic/Baal-ancient-deity https://tspace.library.utoronto.ca/handle/1807/73647 https://www.britannica.com/topic/Elohim https://www.britannica.com/topic/Yahweh https://www.britannica.com/topic/Chemosh https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerebral_cortex
