Poem
Tonight That damn moonlight so mysteriously and enchantingly bright As it dances in and out All about And peeks in between and around The night skies dark clouds With it’s mesmerizing embrace Taking me right back to that place Where all I can clearly see is your face It’s tugging on my hearts strings once again Just when I thought, I could move on, your memory pulls me back in It’s a game I can’t win And yet it never seems to ever completely end What I feel for you is so not pretend For you I would let myself be completely captured and drown in my desire I would be devotedly consumed and raptured by your merciful fire I’ve tried very hard, over and over, but I can’t seem to let you go You’re that intense endless ache so deep inside my soul Yet I understand, yeah I know I have to try yet again I have to give this another shot and push hard to win I will keep your memory safe always inside my heart Even if at times, recalling our moments together tears it apart I have to do this for myself, I need to have that fresh start Because I can’t keep hoping that someday, you’ll come to see There’s a piece of you that will forever be Right here with only me I will hold that piece of you sacredly with all I am and with all I can and will be And I believe that you will never again be able to find or meet no one quite like me Which is why, in my eyes, your memory won’t let me move on, you somehow believe I would just sit here and wait Baby you need to quickly open your eyes and then you would clearly see, in this moment, you might be too late I long for someone to love me for me and for how and what I am That special guy who sees me, and still don’t give a damn No matter how big or small, short or tall, yet through it all by my side will stand Just like you once had done And you could be here now had you not turned, and from your fears and demons, run But what’s done is done, and it’s in the past For now you keep on thinking we weren’t meant to last Now I keep on trying To force down tears that need crying But going forward still with my life Even if what keeps coming is pain, heartache, and strife You I can never forget But the times with you, I’ll never regret No matter how much I may bleed I need to find a man I will forever want, and want to have a man I will always need …I will always and forever love you so But somehow, someway I have to once and for all find a way to let you go
