I The Holy Spirit shows me Jesus in the Old Testament Most followers of Jesus connect Passover and communion ... But did you notice the Cross and its healing power? Already in Shur (Ayun Musa?), less than a month out of Egypt and slavery The ancient Hebrews did what we do: complain, complain, complain (They wanted good food, to return to Egypt, & Moses had had enough) One would think God would bring judgment to the ingrates But not so fast human and Karma thinkers: He showed GRACE Instead of punishment, he asked Moses to throw a "tree" into it The bitter waters became sweet! It was a foreshadowing of the tree, cross And Calvary II An acrostic version of the above piem was list a few hours ago. Yet, I am grateful for this second opportunity. VERSE 25: "So he [Moses] cried out to the LORD, and He showed him a tree." The name Marah is spelled with an “h” in Ex. 15, but in the Book of Ruth, Naomi calls herself, a widow, MARA. The added "h" reminds us of how the LORD changed Avram and Sarai by adding this, the fifth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, "hayy." It also sounds like breath, symbol of Spirit ( pnuema? Ruach?). Five is the number of grace. It is the same letter that was added to our matriarch and patriarch's names as a sign of covenant grace. So, I have enjoyed referring to Jesus as the FACE OF GRACE, even of as a tree, sweetening bitter water in the wilderness more than a thousand years before He came to eartt.
