This is the day
When we reach toward heaven
Whispering, praying
To the Creator of everything
The One who gave us
A second chance to say to Him
Thank you, God… for grace
Thank you for this chance
To reach out in faith
And take the hand that was nailed
To a cross just three days before this.

This is the day
When we yearn to lift our voices in praise
Of the One who made a way
For us to finally say
We can visit heaven someday
Even though we’ve sinned along the way
He didn’t leave us in our sin
But chose to save us from anguish

This is the day
When we whisper through our tears
Joy that is beyond words
Because we have access to the One
Who made a way for us to go home
A way for us to pray and praise
A way for us to know the meaning of grace

This is the day
When faith will find a way
To finally reach heaven and say
He is risen – He is alive!
He survives the tests of demise
He is the Savior – He is the life
He is ascended to heaven
Where He awaits His many disciples
Those of us who know Him 
As Jesus Christ, the victor
The way to finally find true life
Hidden inside the soul
Where He left us the Holy Ghost
To remind us that He abides
There, inside, ALIVE…
Providing a light to shine
Brighter than moon and stars
Wiser than the lemon sun
Purer than the hope of a love
This beautiful, this kind
This full of everlasting life

This is the day
When I come to God to say
Thank you – I praise You
For this Easter, I remember
Your love, Your joy, Your grace
The home where you made a place
For me to come into your embrace
Hallelujah – Happy Easter Day!
