Poem
Truth, Poetry, The Pen A Sword, The Heart A Shield A poet composes tho' few may read Forever the heart, secrets sets to bleed And in midst of darkness, whom can deny Insidious black falling from sorrow's sky Or the abyss born from that failing hope Or calamitous storms from horoscopes Yet time so spins with its soul-sister Fate And whatever may dare come, calmly waits. A poet needs not bread and praise to win Nor favors from angel with silken skin Rather writing's ardor, hope's sweet promise With faith in courage, life cannot dismiss Set with truth and light to thus further see Than ocean tides that splash to disagree Yet time so spins with its soul-sister Fate And whatever may dare come, calmly waits. A poet may yield to sorrows' tears bring From June's glow be blinded to birds that sing Fail to acknowledge golden moon's soft glow Or gasp at shining beauty of fallen snow Walk amidst shadows, steeped in deep pain Thus relive tragedy again and again Yet time so spins with its soul-sister Fate And whatever may dare come, calmly waits. A poet may write of hope to arise From dark culminations of angry skies Board a new ship, set sail to oceans cross Heal the soul, write to overcome the loss Look to future to light and love reward Admit living tis so oft sadly hard Yet time so spins with its soul-sister Fate And whatever may dare come, calmly waits. A poet must with courage new paths blaze Towards horizon's promise, castles raise Seek love's light and with new calm enjoy Dear life and with conviction thus employ Pen and paper to heart's desires compose Remember beauty of poetry why he chose Heavenly blessings life and love may bring Wake to dawn's stirring glows, arise to sing A poet can word splash, into parades Stir up life, to defeats world's sad charades From morn's bright gems to evening's delight Suit armor, bravely dare to win the fight Stop storming of fortress that love hath made Recall oaths, and the part romance played Heavenly blessings life and love may bring Wake to dawn's stirring glows, arise to sing. A poet composes tho' few may read A poet needs not bread and praise to win A poet may yield to sorrows' tears bring A poet may write of hope to arise A poet must with courage new paths blaze A poet can word splash, into parades A poet must with courage new paths blaze A poet can word splash, into parades.
