Poem
Beneath a quiet oak and pine who whisper Hope through heart and mind, I sit – Reluctant to leave my spot, where beauty Pours over the grass carpeted thoughts I listen to the squirrels scamper about Lifting nuts when they happen Upon an acorn on their trail – coloring the scene In laughter, giggles and thrills Discovered by those who take a moment To treasure the sight of a hoarder Making their way in this world of nature Sunlight flickers and falls across in blessings Rained down on the mystery of a camp Where the silence is treasured and the joy Streams in with the setting of a sun who knows Pleasant sighs of affectionate serenity Abide in the one who knows the character Of a natural setting where God paints the setting In lemony sunshine with azure skies And a dreamy shadowing of trees who grow Just far enough apart to reach branches Across the expanse to touch budding stems With glorious grace, like a murmur of praise I hear only the magnificent gestures Wildflowers moving gentle in an afternoon breeze Laughing robins and fluttering butterflies In magical colors – lilac, gold and turquoise Praying to the One who made them, gave them All the wonder felt by the spirit who knows This is God’s gift to the heart who lives To discover that nature is here to give us Harmony that sings grace, truth, sincere faith Through the soul who listens to the sound of light Falling soft against the naked skin, touching The mind with feelings of joy that can begin to Shadow every worry with a feeling of beautiful Inspiration, creativity stirred to life by a Creator Who knows that nature is alive with revelation Sincerity that washes dreams in halos of hope And paints the visions of wonder in delicate prose This is my dream vacation – a vacation filled with Glorious reasons to never allow the feeling to disappear Reasons that stick with me through the darker days When I need a feeling to remind me that love will forever Be a part of my heart, my thoughts, my dreams and ideas Love, stirred to life by this dream, fills me with wonder Light that beams across my spirit and reflects my belief That God is always good and He gives more love than I can hold Love that is bold, wise and warm… living on the edge of a thought Broken open by the powerful joy in nature’s paradise!
