Covid waves swept unabated across the world,
Canada and USA were by no means exceptions,
especially, Alberta, Texas and Florida (ATF)
that suffered the severe brunt of infection.

The data of ATF show huge spikes of Covid cases
with the death toll rising to menacing height,
the health care systems were under pressure
that needed to be released in many areas of ATF.

People were not following the Covid protocol,
there was growing reluctance to vaccination.
In order to bring the situation under control
the local governments clamped down lockdown.

As the economy suffered and people lost jobs,
mental health started to show signs of deterioration.
There was widespread agitation to lift the lockdown,
‘Open Texas’ campaign got an increased momentum.

As the pandemic wave showed subsiding trend,
indicating that the worst may be nearly over,
the local authorities rescinded earlier executive order,
removed the mandatory masking requirement.

Opening up, Alberta has taken the first step of no masking,
Texas increases capacity of business and facilities to 100%,
Florida permits travel in and out after vaccination.
The phased measures are prototype of Covid fighting strategy.
