Poem
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:6 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 of the King James Bible Dear God, grateful are we for Your compassion enabling deliverance of our souls securing us from judgment of second death… … in an endless imprisoning darkness where misery’s gloom prevails marked by separation from Your presence forever. Blessed Saviour, we are forever indebted to Your sacrifice paying for our ransom against sins’ captivity so we will not suffer woes brought by second death… … in a place of eternal torture with restless angst and grief sealing the unbelievers and faithless in their doom. Almighty Father, we worshipfully acknowledge Your granted wondrous gift of life eternal freeing us victoriously from second death… … in a cell of everlasting torment helplessly lamenting, wailing with constant gnashing of teeth expressing ceaseless devastation. Loving Lord, we praise You for Your mercy reaching down to offer us radiant hope so as to escape the second death-pangs… … in a dungeon toward no exit of pit that is bottomless midst fires never to be extinguished yet leaving no ashes behind. Holy Spirit, to You we entrust our commitment for reaching-out pursuits with kindness’ care telling Bible truths on second death… … in lake of fire where wrath abides intensifying hatred and bitterness unreached by divine clemency along unheard prayers. Precious Redeemer, we need You to bear the Gospel light testifying about Your power of salvation while warning others against second death… … in hell awaiting each one who refuses grant neglecting offered glorious blessings rejecting Your grace and kindness ceaselessly regretting. Oh, Jesus Christ, we pray: help us in our ministerial pursuits as we lead others to YOU to flee from second death… … toward heaven with You --- the way, the truth, and the light Who died, was buried and resurrected “…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”* *A verse in 2Peter 3:9. February 24, 2022 2nd place, "F Form - Free Verse- New" Poetry Writing Contest Sponsored by Constance La France; judged on 2/25/2022.
