Poem
there were four of us sitting there around the bonfire when the night began thunder from a storm that doesn't come scratch what you see from the sky sultry woodsy air she hides in a hut or cave our prey is stealthy and devilish but our eyes are red when lit by fire we are the last guardians and we thought we were prepared... laughter echoes in the shadows and the first one of us falls fulminated hands still squeezing ears my father used to say: first fear eliminates the weak then weakens the brave but to the persistent he only strengthens all these trees are mortal enemies obey the spells of evil lightning penetrates through the trunk cracked the heart of the century-old tree that killed the strongest of us man who leaves a family that didn't love him a part of all of us is like that detached from its roots loose in a sinful and vengeful world looking for redemption when it started to dawn we were two he just looked at me and understood his pained gaze towards the trees said it all disintegrated in front of me and flooded the grass floor with its dark blood I didn't look back I never look back another idiot pride of one who thinks he knows everything with the knife in my hand I delivered blows and more blows see daddy how strong i am but you never told me that strength does not overcome wisdom I thought at least the sunlight would save me but the sun came up indifferent as always I think he laughed at my inglorious fight and illuminated the iron spear that pierced my body her eyes are beautiful has a color of doom she smiles as i die she knows she will rule the world now that there are no more guardians maybe it's better this way after so long suffocated by kindness It seems the time has come for evil to thrive
