Poem
Hello CRYSTALSKY*. Thanks for consenting to watch over us. You recall that I requested that The Lord would have someone special to be our guard and guide as I and my bride travelled across country. You were the one that God chose to be with us. ********* O yes, SITRUC, I was delighted to come along. It was both a pleasure and a duty. ********* Because of you, CRYSTALSKY, the going was great all the way. Driving through six states, we traversed some 2500 miles of real estate. We drove during the day and slept in hotels each night. I tell you, some great friends gifted us with the hotel stays, and the accommodation was great. The weather was excellent, and the roads were clear and dry. We could not have asked for better. Yea, I remember a few hills and a lot of big rig trucks, but I realize that's the way of the road. Yea, CRYSTALSKY, I well understood the plight of the truckers and did my best to accommodate their well-deserved right of way. They do deliver. ********* Absolutely, SITRUC. By the way, were you pleased with some of the stretches of 80 mile per hour speed limits? ********* O, CRYSTALSKY, I thought you'd never ask. I was very delighted about that and did not hesitate to drive the 80MPH limit. It was the first time that I've seen such speed limits. ********* SITRUC, I was also wondering about what you saw as the bad spots of your journey. ********* Well, CRYSTALSKY, if I had to share some down sides, it was the route through two of the major cities in Texas. I don't know why they built interstates to go right through the city. I suspect it is like this throughout the country. Why did they not build a real bypass around the major cities so that if you were not going TO that city, you could easily go right over the top or bottom and experience so much less stress and traffic. If it wasn't for the new system of posting on the pavement, I don't think I would have been nearly as successful in navigating those cities. ********* SITRUC, perhaps we can continue this conversation later, but I do have one last question for now. What was the most scenic and striking view of your journey and how did it affect you? ********* CRYSTALSKY, that is a great question, and I could write an entire poem about that subject alone. Coming out of a border area city, we crossed into a New Mexico city. We were awe-truck by the beautiful mountain range that looked as if it touched the sky. The clouds seemed to hoover along the mountain top, and although I knew we were not approaching heaven, the scene was heavenly. The site was beautiful and inspiring, as if God had given it a special touch. Thank you, CRYSTALSKY, for helping to guide and watch over us. ********* No, SITRUC, thank you, for allowing me to come along for the ride. 021422PSCest, A Conversation with a Fictional Character, Natasha L. Scaggs. 091622.Your Second Chance 2nd Submission: Sotto Poet *The name CRYSTALSKY represents two people. A lady who received a tool box from my give-away pile and left a note with her name on it. She inspired me. Her name was CRYSTAL whom I never met. SKY was a homeless man I met and rendered aid to him. SKY left an impression on me that I shall never forget. Both CRYSTAL and SKY were instrumental in my preparation for the cross-country journey. I honor them both through the use of their name in this 'conversational poem'.
