Poem
There were four times that I recall. I was home each time I fell to the floor. I was also alone each time I fell, and three of those times, immediately, I got up alone on my own. No one ever saw me fall during any of the four falls. On my fourth fall, my son was visiting and happen to come to the kitchen and found me on the floor. He helped me to my feet, and I was fine. Had he not walked in, I don't know if I would have gotten up on my own. It was as if I decided to take a nap on the kitchen floor. Although I wondered about each fall, I never told anyone of the other falls. Nor was alarmed. I was 65 and never had I been under a doctor's care for any reason. There were other times when my heart would be racing, or while driving, I would briefly lose track of where I was. Still, I was none the wiser, never realizing how serious a matter it was with my heart. Finally, turning 65, I went in for a Medicare checkup, unrelated to any condition that I was experiencing. Among other things, the doctor checked my heart rate and referred me to a cardiologist. That's where the mystery was revealed, and it was not pretty. My heart rate was in the middle 30s, far below normal. In reality, I was slowly dying, and left unchecked much longer, I would have gone to heaven. The doctor had a fiduciary responsibility to inform the DMV; which he did. He also advised that I get a pacemaker. My driver's license would have been suspended had I not agreed to a scheduled pacemaker insertion. The Lord certainly looked beyond my naivete' and stubbornness and saw my need. In spite of my reluctancy to have the procedure, I went forward with it. I am certain that The Lord intervened, resulting in my life being spared and prolonged for God's purposes. 122421PSCtest, Divine Intervention Poetry, Chantelle Anne Cooke.10P
