Poem
Generally speaking, we were not designed for backward mobility. Principally speaking, we function best as forward-looking mortals. When I was young, I did not see history as appealing. I looked forward with full-speed ahead. As I began to age, I began to look back with great interest. I began to revisit sights, sounds, and people. Such revisits were few but most inspiring. None of the friends that I grew up with ever became life-long friends. How I wish that I could one day see them again and renew acquaintances. Sometimes, we meet people and spend just a season of our lives with them. Some will become life-long friends; others will be a flash or fading flower. Most often, with rare exceptions, the seasons are positive pieces of our life's puzzle. At the time, we have no idea of time and duration, or relationship. We desire so much more of each other, but we are not in control. We become friends from the start, but God's plans take us in different directions. Also, we may not cross paths again, and in time, we will both remember some and forget others. Some will be more impressive than others; like angelic visitors that quickly disappear. It is therefore fitting to understand that we must beware, lest we entertain angels unaware. The historical Biblical record indicates that angels never linger long, and have specific assignments. The Holy Spirit is our Helper; and angels have been assigned by The Lord to serve Him and everyday mortals like you and me. I must say that, at times, certain people have been assigned to serve us. Although they are human like us, sometimes, deservedly so, we call them angels. 122921PS
