Poem
During our lives we make a lot friends, but as time goes by we all seem to move on in different directions. We get older, get married, build a family, and create a new life. At times we look back at all the memories we have with those friends, and it sometimes seems like it has only been a minute since they were right in front of us. All those crazy things we did together, the joys, the foolishness, and even the sadness we shared. Of all those friends there are those who remain in our lives forever, if not in our daily lives, they remain in our hearts. The memories we all share are a bond that lasts a lifetime. 
  I'm not one that believes that progress is all good, that technology is the answer to all our dreams by making life simpler. One thing I do like about it is the way it has brought a whole lot of our old friends back into our lives. It is like finding a time capsule that has been burried for many many years that contains a multitude of emotions. It takes us back to another time when life was easier. A life with a lot less pain. It lets us take our minds off of all our troubles for a moment and give us a bit of the peace we had before we had to grow up and face a sometimes difficult world. To me it is a blessing to be back in touch with all my old friends. Just to hear their thoughts and know they are still in the game of life.
  Along with the joys it brings, it also sometimes brings sadness to us. We have lost many of those people who were sculptors of our life. Chapters that no longer have a voice but are only echoes in our hearts. We hear their words in our memories. We see their faces in our dreams. Sometimes we smile when we think of them. but other times it only leads to tears. But no matter which way we go, there is a bond that lasts forever. You might say that is the human condition. Good or bad we all share the same emotions. 
  The point I am trying to make here is that I am glad that we have an avenue to get back together on whatever level we take it to through this new technology. Our past is closer now and we can maybe understand why we are the way we are and those things that shaped us into the persons we are now.
  I am very pleased to have everyone back in my life that touched me in some way, good or bad you all became part of who we all are. 
I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and let you know that I love you all and thank you for being my friends. I'll never forget you.
